Mrs. van Gemert, Manager Nuclear New Build at NRG, will be speaking about Global SMR Deployment during Session 1: Unlocking the Business Potential of SMRs, on 15 January 2025.
Over the past 18 years, Mrs. van Gemert has built a solid career in the nuclear industry, starting as a consultant and evolving into a project manager and team lead. During her early years at NRG PALLAS, she contributed to a wide range of nuclear safety and licensing projects. As team lead of the Nuclear Safety and Licensing group at NRG PALLAS, she became the go-to contact for the Dutch nuclear sector when exploring LTO discussion, new builds projects, or major facility modifications. After a decade dedicated to safety and licensing, Mrs. van Gemert embraced a new challenge as Manager of Decommissioning and Services at NRG PALLAS. In this role, she was responsible for acquiring and managing several large, multi-year framework contracts in waste characterisation for German and Belgian nuclear plants. Recognizing the momentum of the nuclear revival in the Netherlands, she transitioned into a leadership role in nuclear new build efforts at NRG PALLAS. Nowadays she supports the Dutch ministry, provinces and several municipalities in their challenge to first investigate the feasibility of nuclear new builds and thereafter realize nuclear new builds.
